    Unki Mine runs road safety campaigns for school children

    SHURUGWI – Unki Mine which is based in Shurugwi has been running road safety awareness for pupils in the district in a bid to reduce accidents among school children
    Hundreds of pupils attended a road safety campaign that was held at Ironsides Hall in Shurugwi last Friday. Evelyn Mawimba the Unki Mine social performance manager said her company was committed to road safety while addressing the children.
    Mawimba said Unki was holding the road safety campaigns both in town and in the rural areas.
    "To us road safety is a priority. We called other stakeholders such as the Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe and the ZRP to help us educate you in road safety. Yesterday we did our campaigns in the rural areas today we are here in town," said Mawimba.
    Jonah Mhangami, Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe regional manager said that they were invited by Unki mine as a key stakeholder in traffic safety.
    "We were invited as critical stakeholders in traffic safety and we were part of the whole program," Said Mhangami.
