    Mtsambiwa appointed CEO (Tongaat Hulett Southern Africa)

    CHIREDZI – Tongaat Hulett Zimbabwe Managing Director, Sydney Mtsambiwa has been appointed interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Durban based Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) listed Tongaat Hulett Limited which oversees the sugar giant`s operations in Southern Africa.
    According to a statement issued by the company, Mutsambiwa`s appointment is  with effect  from October 31, 2018 when the current CEO Peter Staude retires.
    "Further to the announcement on 6, August 2018 that Peter Staude will retire as Chief Executive Officer with effect from 31 October 2018, shareholders are advised that Sydey Mutsambiwa has been appointed as the interim CEO with effect from 1, November 2018.
    Mutsambiwa will serve as the interim CEO until the Board finalises the appointment of Staude`s successor. He will carry the full responsibilities and authority of the position of the CEO, participate in and report to the Board.
    "Mtsambiwa currently oversees Tongaat Hullet`s sugar operations in Zimbabwe and has been CEO of Hippo Valley Estates Limited since June 2009" reads the statement.
    The star continues to rise for the Gutu born Mtsambiwa as he was recently appointed non-executive board chairman for Barclays Bank Zimbabwe.
