    Masvingo Teachers’ College starts training secondary school teachers

    MASVINGO - Masvingo Teachers' College which has since its establishment in January 1981 been training primary school teachers has expanded its scope and is now training secondary school teachers.
    This was said by the Principal, Benson Mutambudzi at the College's 34th graduation held at the institute on Friday last week. He said that the new training programme started in May this year.
    The graduation was attended by the Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Amon Murwira. There were 888 students who were capped on the day.
    The Mirror has since established that there are 131 student teachers under the secondary school programme.
    The students who graduated are from two different intakes.  There were 375 distinctions from the graduands. The best graduates with four distinctions were given $300 each deposited in their bank accounts as prizes.
    Some of the outstanding students were Oliver Nzenga, Fellix Tsikira, Triumphant Albert Svinurai majoring, Shumirai Tariro Masiya and the best student was Osborn Mapanya who majored in Environmental Science.
    Professor Murwira urged the graduands to go and serve the people.
    "You are not a person if you are not among others (munhu vanhu)" said Professor Murwira
