Heads to roll at Chiredzi Town Council - DA

CHIREDZI – Chiredzi District Administrator Lovemore Chisema has warned that he will take decisive action against Chiredzi Town Council management and councilors if they continue to fail to deliver service to residents.
He bemoaned the quality of service delivery at council and told a stakeholders meeting at the council boardroom last Thursday that he almost took severe action against some council officials but was stopped by the Minister of Local Government, July Moyo because of the impending national elections.
Chisema who is one of the three commissioners running the affairs of Chiredzi Town Council warned that he is still ready to take action if service does not improve. He added that there were no sacred cows at council whether its management or the elected councilors.
He said that it was unhealthy that town council was always at loggerheads with residents.
"There should be a service charter in which residents play their part of paying bills while council deliver services but here in Chiredzi residents are demanding service which council is failing to provide. Employees should do their work, if you fail please just leave. Heads will roll this time, we cannot have residents who moan everyday.
Please be organised Chiredzi Town Council. I had taken a giant step towards normalizing things here but was only stopped by Minister July Moyo just before elections," said Chisema.
