    Gwanda cop drops personal documents while fleeing arrest

    GWANDA - A Police officer based at Gwanda Rural Police Station was arrested after he dropped some personal documents while on a stock theft spree.
    Sam Sabelo (31) who resides at 1185 Dete in Hwange allegedly dropped an FMC loan agreement document and a jacket while trying to sell stolen cattle at Mbokodo Abbatoir. Sabelo accidentally dropped the document when security guards at the abattoir discovered that he was trying to sell five stolen cattle and he ran away.
    Security guards tracked the suspect using the FMC loan document and identified him at Police parade. He appeared before Gwanda Magistrate, Nomagugu Ncube on allegations of stealing five beasts at Matshetsheni Village and transporting them to Mbokodo abattoir.
    His accomplices who were not mentioned in court also fled from Mbokodo.
    An identification parade was called and Sabelo was identified leading to his arrest. Investigations established that two of the stolen beasts belonged to Makunga Khumalo.
    Opposing bail the State argued that the accused had another pending case in Filabusi.
