BEITBRIDGE – The newly elected Member of Parliament for Beitbridge East, Albert Nguluvhe has made three pledges that will see the standard of life for people in the district improving.
He wants to entice Moslems to buy goats from Beitbridge for their Ramadan Feasts. If this project succeeds, it will be a boon for Beitbridge farmers.
In an exclusive interview with The Mirror, Nguluvhe said that two other projects that he is looking at in his five-year-term are  completing the $241 million facelift of the Beitbridge Border Post and the construction of a new airport for Zimbabwe's largest transit town.
He said that the three projects will create employment and a windfall in terms of revenue for Zimbabwe's driest district. In addition, Nguluvhe looks forward to the dualisation of the Beitbridge – Chirundu Highway and says those that will be employed on the Beitbeidge section of the road will have to come from the district.
"These are major projects that am targeting, I have since engaged the company which will be responsible for Beitbridge border post facelift over the matter and this will see a big change in the livelihoods of residents of Beitbridge," he said.
On the welfare front, Nguluvhe will donate 10 bulls to the constituency every year and he will start with chiefs before going down to the wards.
He added that his priority is also on road construction and maintenance.
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, and is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting and praying to grow closer to Allah.top story
