    Zimuto High pupil in attempted murder charges

    MASVINGO – Taimon Mutenheri (20) who is a student at Zimuto High School has been dragged to court on attempted murder charges.
    Mutenheri of Mucheke in Masvingo appeared before magistrate Dambudzo Malunga after he allegedly stabbed Mathew Mbeu (19) following an argument over some gossip.
    The State alleged that the accused headbutted two people before he stabbed the complainant.
     The matter was heard on Friday last week.
    It is the State case that on July 28, 2018 at around 9pm Mbeu and his friend Elton Chitiga met Mutenheri who was walking with a friend Oscar Tavarera along Mugagau Street, Mucheke D.
    Mbeu heard Mutenheri and Tavarera talking about them and Mbeu stopped them to enquire what they were talking about.
    Mutenheri came and stood between Mbeu and Tavarera and headbutted Mbeu once in the face. He stabbed Mbeu with an okapi knife once in the abdomen, removed the knife and ran away.
    Mbeu reported the matter at Chikato Police leading to Mutenheri's arrest. Mbeu sustained injuries and a medical report was produced.
    He was found guilty and sentenced 10 months imprisonment, 6 months suspended for good behaviour, remaining 4 months suspended on condition that he performs 140 hours of community service at Roger Howman hall.
    Liberty Hove prosecuted.
