Teachers haggle in court over $200 maintenance

ZVISHAVANE – Two married teachers, Astony Virukai who is stationed at Chidyamakono High School and his wife Jane Chikwira who is the head at Musikati Secondary School under Chief Masunda in Zvishavane quarrelled in court over maintenance of their three children.
Magistrate Shephard Munjanja who presided over the case was not amused with their behaviour in court and said that they acted like uneducated people.
He said that the two have money management issues.
Chikwira said she took her husband to court because he was failing to give her money to take care of the children.
Chikwira demanded $300 from the husband as some of the children were at boarding schools. Virukai offered $150 claiming that he had other bills to pay and he had a domestic worker that he also paid  $120.
Magistrate Mjanja was more compelled by the evidence of the wife and he granted her maintenance of $200.
