    TINASHE TIRIVAVI

SHURUGWI – MDC Alliance made a small dent on Zanu PF in the Shurugwi Town Council elections when it increased the number of wards it holds from five to six after last week's elections.
The party also claimed the scalp of former town chairman, Tsungai Makore who lost his election bid in Ward 8 to Benedict Kupakuwana from the MDC Alliance.
Zanu PF still controls the council with a slight majority of seven councillors against MDC Alliance's six.
Kupakuwana was over the moon for bearing the town chairman.
"I thank God I have won the election and managed to defeat the current mayor Makore with 24 votes. I look forward to changing the lives of people in my ward especially the youth," said Kupakuwana.
The councillors are ZANU PF; Walter Gwinji (Ward 5), Willia Zhuwaki (Ward 9), Maggie Muzimu (Ward 10) ...(where are the rest!!!!!!!!)
The MDC Alliance councillors are Benedict Kupakuwana (Ward 8), Fanuel Machiya (Ward 7), Jackson Kasama (Ward 6), Obrien Mavhenyengwa (Ward 4), Zvidzai Mukorovi (Ward 3), Tavarwisa Tavarwisa (Ward 11).
