    Rujeko gospel musician heads for USA

    MASVINGO – Tatenda Manase Chimunhu (28) a proficient gospel musician has scored a first in the country by becoming the first Zimbabwean to represent Africa in the USA at the prestigious Prayze Factor People's Choice Awards.
    Chimunhu is the only African nominee in the Prayze Factor People's Choice awards season 11 to be held on September 15 in Atlanta, Georgia at Rockdale County Auditorium. 
    The awards started in USA in 2007 as a way of promoting artists from around the globe by giving them recording contracts after being selected.by a panel.
    Chimunhu has been nominated to contest in 3 categories, International Artist (solo), International lead male of the year artist and Alternative Christian Artist (solo).
    The Prayze Factor Awards gives talented aspiring gospel artists an opportunity to take their music ministry to another level, promoting them via social media networks, print media and television networks.
    Chimunhu released his 6 tack album 'Hossana' in 2015, an album which earned him a ticket to the USA.
    International Liason for the Prayze factor people's choice Awards Reverend Dr Kay Morris applauded Chimunhu for his talent.
    "Tatenda is an extra ordinary singer, he was voted with highest scores in the round stages. I believe his participation in the competition will be a historic occasion and life transforming chapter," said Dr Kays.
    Chimunhu will join other nominees from Canada, Jamaica, Barbados, United Kingdom, Bahamas and Brazil.
    Chimunhu told The Mirror that his appointments are not being 'favoured' by the people involved but a blessing from God and he believes that by the same grace he is definitely going to land the award.
