MASVINGO – Nicoz Diamond, one of the country's leading insurance companies has donated $5 000 to the Great Zimbabwe University to be used  for sinking a borehole at one of the institution's campuses.
The amount was handed over to the University Vice Chancellor, Professor Rungano Zvobgo at a function held at the main campus in Masvingo on Tuesday.
Speaking at the function, Patricia Mutumha, the acting head marketing for NicozDiamond said the donation follows a realisation that the campus faced water problems from time to time.
"Today NicozDiamond fulfilled its pledge to assist the University student residents through the donation of $5 000 for the drilling of a borehole which will help to alleviate water shortages at the campus. The company has also supported the institution through other sponsorships like graduation ceremony prizes and participation in the University's activities," said Mutumha.
"We are very happy with your love, continue supporting us, we appreciate the good thing you did to us," said Prof Zvobgo.
