    MDC Alliance disqualified candidate wins at Renco

    RENCO – A candidate disqualified by the MDC Alliance at Renco has trounced the party's preferred candidate by 787 votes to 546 after standing as an independent.
    Siyai Neshanje who was the outgoing councilor was disqualified in preference of Benson Shuro. After the imposition, Neshanje went into the elections in Ward 35 Masvingo South Constituency as an independent candidate.
    Neshanje stood against six other candidates.
    Zanu PF got 33 councilors out of the 35 chamber council.
    Benson Shuro of MDC Alliance got 546 Allen Mushangi of ZANU PF got 382, Innocent Chikwari an independent got 113 votes, Farai Kufunga of Build Zim Alliance got 61 votes, Magret Mahuni of Peoples Rainbow Coalition got 24 votes and Chivai Muganyi of UDA got 11 votes.
