MASVINGO- The gods of football seem to be smiling for high riding ZIFA Eastern Region D1 outfit Manica Diamonds FC who have gone for 15 matches without tasting defeat as the team is destined for the Castle lager Premiership next year.
The team needed no other confirmation after the demolition of former Premiership side and fellow title contenders, Bufalloes FC by two goals to nil last Saturday at Mutare Boys Stadium.
Manica Diamonds FC affectionately known as the GemBoys' gaffer Luke 'Vahombe' Masomere showered his squad with praise for their impressive run thus far and vowed to finish the season at the top.
"The boys are focused and have a lot of determination to land the ultimate prize and they have proved this by finishing the first half of the season at the summit of the log standing.
"We are ready for any team as my boys are bubbling with confidence," the seasoned gaffer.
Manica Diamonds have registered 13 wins and 2 draws in the 15 matches they played in the first half of the season.
This weekend Manica Diamonds is set to lock horns with their bitter rivals in the reverse fixture at Verenge Stadium in Rusape after they beefed their squad with a striker and a midfielder.
"We have managed to rope in Tatenda Kuvetu (striker) from Surrey FC and Tinashe Chigede (misfielder) from Shabanie FC and we hope they will add value to the team as we go to the climax of the season," added Masomere.
