    Chibuku Road to Fame competitions on this weekend

    MASVINGO-Ten unrecorded bands are set to battle it out at Farai Beerhall in Mucheke this Saturday for the sole ticket to represent the province at the Chibuku Road to Fame talent search national finals.
    The annual talent search competition for groups which are not main stream bands is organised by the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) and sponsored by Delta Beverages.
    Caroline Chikwanda a programs officer at NACZ said they are now seized with registration of groups that want to take part at the event.
    "All unrecorded artists or bands with at least 8 members aged between 18 and 34 years and able to play live music can register with us to participate at the event," added Chikwanda.
    The provincial winners will walk away with $500 the runners up will get $300 and the third best band will receive $200 for their efforts. 
    Chibuku Road to Fame has produced stars such as Romeo Gasa who won the national finals in 2007 and has gone on to become one of the best sungura musicians in the country.
    Last year provincial winners Black Omolo Band will give a guest performance at the event.
    National competitions are slated for September 06, 2018 in Harare.
