    TAWANDA HOMBA

MASVINGO – Aspiring Zanu –PF candidate for Ward 6 in Masvingo Urban, Wellington Mahwende has embarked on a door-to-door campaign which he says is more effective than large rallies.
Mahwende, a prominent land developer in Masvingo told The Mirror during the campaign that he wanted direct interaction with the electorate ahead of the July 30 general elections. He said that he sometimes also narrows down his campaign to one-on-one.
The door to door  took place on Saturday and was carried out by over 200  Zanu PF members who were  shouting slogans "Mahwende pfee, ED pfee, Mazarire pfee''.
Mahwende is the managing director of  December 12 Housing co-operative selling residential stands at Victoria Ranch in Masvingo. More than 3 000 houses have so far been constructed at the scheme. Mahwende has also provided free Wi-Fi at shopping centres in various wards for the benefit of residents.
"I am more than ready for the elections. We anticipate a landslide victory in my ward including for the president of Zanu PF, Emmerson Mnangagwa and the MP Benjamin Mazarire," said Mahwende.
He said that when elected into office he is going to lobby for the introduction of pre-paid water meters so that people are charged what they would be using.
