    St Anthony’s High are the singing champions

    BONDOLFI MISSION - St Anthony's High School in Zaka rules the roost.
    St Anthony was two weeks ago adjudged the best Catholic school choir in Masvingo Diocese after beating 16 other teams. The competitions were held at Bondolfi Mission to coincide with the Feast of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.
    The competitions were held under the banner of the Catholic Secondary Schools Association (CASSA). St Anthony's conductor was Julia Mafurutu. 
    The theme of the competition was Youth commitment; hope for the Church and society. The song for the competition was Kuzvipira kwevechidiki ndiyo Tarisiro yesangano and this was jointly composed by three students; Theresa Makendenge from Ndarama High, Tristana Matsongoni from Gokomere High and Donald Tom from St Anthony's High School.
    Gokomere High, the perennial winners came second, Mukaro High third, Silveira High fourth, Mutero High fifth, St Marys Beitbridge sixth, Bondolfi Secondary seventh, Berejena eighth, Nandi Secondary School 9 and Avhunga Secondary 10.  
    The priest in Charge of Bondolfi Mission Fr James Magadzire thanked all the choirs that participated in the  competition. 
    "It is a great honour for Bondolfi Mission to be the first mission to host the Catholic secondary schools choir competitions. These choir competitions help our students to grow spiritually since when singing we will be glorifying God.
    "I  encourage you all to take these competitions seriously in preparation for the national competitions to be held in due course,'' said Fr Magadzire.
