    MSU student crowned Miss Tourism Midlands

    GWERU – Midlands State University student Ashleigh Mutsatsa was on Friday evening crowned Miss Tourism Midlands at the beauty pageant held at Cathedral Hall.
    The 23 year old model who is  Level 4.1 doing Development Studies pushed through stiff competition from 13 contestants. Mutsatsa was also named the most beautiful at the competition.
    First Princess was Agatha Kulingah (22) another student from MSU who is also Level 4.1 studying Tourism & Hospitality. She was named the most  talented girl.
    The second Princess who was however the crowd's favourite because she comes from Gokwe and received wild cheering from her grandparents was Tubeilhle Ndlovu (19). She will be starting Physiothera-py studies at the UZ in August 2018.
    The event planner and model agent Mavis Koslek said that the pageant started with 22 young women scouted from within the Midlands and these were screened to 13 finalists.
    The competition was in four categories; intimate wear contestants showcased their bikini, tourism encounter sites in the Midlands, the ladies marketing an attraction in the province, talent display, the con-testants showcased different skills on stage in singing, dancing or poetry and the final category was the evening gowns followed by question and answer.
    Other contestants were Tanaka Maphosa, Tariroyashe Goredema, Tubelihle Ndlovu, Merlin Patai, Alexandra Kwaramba, TapiwaMaku-yana, Kait Mufundisi, Patrenda Mhundwa, Linear Mahlerema, Charity Fiyeri and Beverly Manyarara
