MASVINGO - Incumbent Masvingo Urban Ward 10 councillor and Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (TUZ) president Lovemore Mufamba has lost the rerun for Zanu PF primary elections rerun held on Monday.
Mufamba  described the results as false because most of the people who participated in the elections were allegedly from outside Ward 10. He immediately dispatched a report to party superiors and warned that the developments in the ward were a recipe for disaster for the ruling party.
He told The Mirror that he was not appealing again.
Mufamba managed 85 votes and lost for the second time to Sengerai Manyanga who collected 476 votes.
"I don't accept the results and I also refused to sign the ballot papers confirming the results. This time I am not going to appeal but this a recipe for disaster for the ruling party because most of the people who voted were from outside the ward," said a fuming Mufamba.
In Zaka West ward 22 Laiza Kugedera garnered 198 votes followed by Lawrence Chikwenhere 160 and in Chiredzi East ward 4 Murawu Munyengeri got the right to represent the party after getting 435 votes against Zvezve Sithole's 379.
In another rerun in ward 30 in Masvingo South the results were not available by the time of going to Press.
Masvingo Zanu Pf official who refused to be named confirmed the results.
