GUTU- Prominent Mpandawana businessman and teacher, Titus Madzingo  who appeared in court before Provincial Magistrate Langton Ndokera on April 18, 2018 facing 75 counts of fraud involving $90 589,20 will appear in court again on May 5, 2018 for continuation of trial.
Madzingo allegedly edited EcoCash messages to take delivery of beverages from Hyper Distribution, a Delta Corporation agent based at Mpandawana.
Madzingo who is out on $200 bail, was also ordered to report to the ZRP CID Section every Saturday and to stay at his current address until the case is finalised.
It is the State case that Madzingo who operates Tito Liquids Bottle Store at Mpandawana is well known to Hyper Distributors and taking advantage of the relationship Madzingo would edit EcoCash messages to show that he had paid money to the beverages agent.
Madzingo would send messages from his cellphone 0772 900 433  to Emily Terera and Farai Chinyaride who are cashiers at Hyper Distributors as proof that he had paid and the two would then allow him to collect his order.
The EcoCash message editing went on from June 14, 2017 to March 7, 2018 when one of the employees checked a message allegedly send by Madzingo and realised that it was not confirmed by Econet.
The company checked the other messages and realised that there was no payment made to Hyper Distributors.
The matter was reported to Gutu ZRP leading to Madzingo's arrest
