SHURUGWI- Shurugwi based Premiership debutants Nichrut FC will travel 90km to Mandava Stadium for their home matches after the PSL and ZIFA grounds inspectors condemned Ascot Stadium in Gweru which they intended to use for their 2018 season.
They will play their season opener against Premiership returnees Mutare City Rovers on March 17 at Mandava Stadium and the coach John Nyikadzino has expressed disgruntlement over the arrangement.
"I am really disappointed by the unavailability of Ascot Stadium since it now means we have to play our home matches 90 km away at Mandava Stadium. This will have an impact on our finances and also am worried about our fans who may not be able to accompany the team to provide moral support," said Nyikadzino
Meanwhile, William Mhazo Nichrut assistant coach said that the team is now geared up and ready for the 2018 season.
"Our trainings are going on well and II believe we now have what it takes to compete in the league and be able to finish the season on a respectable position," said Mhazo
The team has also enlisted the services of Nkosilati  and Oceant Ncube from relegated Tsholotsho FC.
