Meet your MDC T candidates for Chivi constituencies

CHIVI – Regular MDC T Parliamentary candidate for Chivi North, Bernard Chiondegwa is this time facing Emmanuel Chidaushe in the party primaries, The Mirror has confirmed.
Chiondengwa is a prominent contractor who is into supply and delivery of fluid handling, construction and earth-moving equipment and accessories through Con-Plant Technology where he is the managing director. He is also an MDC T national executive member.
Party insiders said Chidaushe will give Chiondegwa a run for his money because he is a formidable candidate with grassroots support. The former contested as an MDC T candidate for ward 8 in the 2013 elections but lost to Vuta of Zanu PF.
Chidaushe works for Zimbuild a land development company based in Gweru.
"Yes I am standing against Chiondegwa and I am confident to win the primaries and represent MDC T in the parliamentary elections because I have the support of the people at grassroots level. Every weekend I come down for consultations and campaigning in all the wards in Chivi North," said a confident Chidaushe.
"I always trash them in the primaries but they continue to come to stand up against me. Our problem as a party is that these spoilers withdraw back into their shells after losing primaries instead of bolstering campaigns for the party candidate," said Chiondegwa an MDC T founding member.
MDC T has reserved Chivi Central for a candidate from Professor Welsman Ncube's MDC under the Alliance but the party is yet to name its horse there.
MDC T insuders said although the seat is reserved for Alliance partner they have two candidates who are willing to feel in the gap if need arises and these are; Bornwell Matupfunye the constituency chairperson and Stephen Mudereri his vice who are both teachers. Efforts to get comments from the two were fruitless as their mobile phones were on voice mail.
Chivi South is unlikely to have primary elections as there is only one candidate, Amato Ndekere of the MDC T. Ndekere from Pedzisai Village 1 under Headman Madzivire was Ward 25 councillor from 2008 to 2013 and he is also Chivi South constituency chairperson.
