ZINWA installs generator to restore water supplies at Ngundu

    TATENDA CHIZU

NGUNDU – The Zimbabwe Water Authority (Zinwa) has installed a generator at Ngundu to pump water to the reservoir so that the precious liquid is restored to the residents.
The water authority has taken this route to alleviate the water crisis at the sprawling business centre following a breakdown in the Zesa transformer which resulted in zero supplies for six weeks up to February 2, 2018.
A fault of an electric transformer resulted in the problems.
The Mirror received a press statement from ZINWA confirming that they restored the water problems.
The development was confirmed by Zinwa Coporate Communications and Marketing Manager Marjorie Munyonga in a Press statement to The Mirror. She said that water supplies resumed on February 3, 2018 and the centre has been receiving supplies at least eight hours a day.
Residents walked 5km to fetch water from unprotected sources.
