CHIKOMBA- Some 100 Form 2 pupils from St Francis of Assisi High School in Chikomba recently mobilised resources and donated cash and goodies to Mustard Seed Children's Home in Chivhu on Sunday.
The director and founder of Mustard Seed, Chipo Muteve expressed great appreciation for the pupil's thoughts and kindness towards the disadvantaged children.
"Their thoughts and kindness humbles us at Mustard Seed. They have donated to us not because they have plenty but because they feel for others and therefore they can sacrifice," said Muteve.
The pupils donated food stuffs and sanitary ware among other things.
A teacher at the school, Sister Angella Madzivadondo, who was the co-ordinator of the programme, said the donation was one of the school's yearly activities in accordance with the Catholic Lent season of giving to the needy. The donation was initiated by the pupils.
"Pupils donate on their own will. It is the first time the pupils have donated to children's home. We usually help pupils from surrounding primary schools with stationery and school fees among other things," said Sr Madzivadondo.education
