Shariwa and Mupasiri leave Shabani FC

ZVISHAVANE - It never rains but pours for Zvishavane based Premiership outfit Shabani Mine FC after their captain Farai Mupasiri and technical manager Taku Shariwa who had initially vowed to stay put dumped the club on Thursday last week.
An apologetic Mupasiri who helped the team to survive relegation said he leaves the club with a heavy heart to join bitter rivals FC Platinum.
FC Platinum are seeking to boost the CAF squad and the service of Mupasiri could improve the club's chances of reaching the CAF Champions League group stages.
"It was not an easy decision to make, my apologies to the fans who rallied behind me during the last season as I revived my career at the club," said Mupasiri who refused to disclose contents of his contract.
Mupasiri is one of the many players that have gained fame at Shabani FC and crossed over to FC Platinum that include Simon Shoko, Nelson Mazivisa and Tarisai Rukanda among others.
Shabani FC's major blow came also with the departure of Shariwa who indicated that he wants to pursue his studies.
"I wish the club well and I am leaving not because of the problems facing the club but I intent to persue my studies and God willing I wish to come back in the near future," said Shariwa.
Shariwa together with head coach Takesure Chiragwi defied odds at Shabanie FC by helping the team to survive relegation despite financial woes that haunded the club last season.
Shabani lost William Mapfumo and Trevor Ajana who joined Mutare Diamonds and may find it difficult to sign good players for the forthcoming 2018 season. sport news
