    I am a well known thief, but not on this one – cattle rustler tells magistrate

    MVUMA - A notorious Chirumanzu cattle rustler, Christopher Toendepi (74) is back at the courts a few months after his release for over the same crime.
    Toendepi, who is nicknamed Magedhe for his notoriety in stock theft pleaded not guilty to the charge before Mvuma Magistrate Musaiwona Shortgame.
    "I admit before this court that I am a renowned cattle thief but not on this one," protested Toendepi.
    He added, "I am not the one who slaughtered, I just found the meat and took it away."
    It is the State case that sometime last month some herdsmen lost a cow and a calf   which belonged to Trevor Muchasarira.
    The matter was reported to the Police who searched and found Toendepi with bags of meat hidden in a bush. Muchasarira positively identified the head of the calf which was found with Toendepi.
    Toendepi was remanded in custody to February 15, 2018 for judgement.
