BEITBRIDGE BUREAU- The Beitbridge Business Association (BBA) will  next month launch a publicity association which will market business opportunities in the small border town.
The association which is to be called Beitbridge Publicity Association (BPA) will also deal with issues affecting the local community as it will forge links with Beitbridge Residents Association, said (BBA) co-ordinator Clevers Moyo in an interview with The Mirror.
One of the major roles of the association is publicity and BPA therefore plans to launch a newsletter and a website. There will also be a lot of emphasis on publicising tourist attraction areas in Beitbridge.
He said the decision to launch BPA came after the realisation that there are issues that did not fall within the ambit of business and  cannot be addressed by BBA. These are some of the issues that would be addressed by BPA.
Cultural centres in the area will be marketed for tourism and these include Dulivadzimu Gorge which is regarded a sacred place.
"Our main objective is to promote the interests of our district and town, publicise tourist attraction centres and disseminate useful information about the town to everyone."
"We felt that through the publicity association, we will be able to tackle problems that affect the community, working closely with the residents association," said Moyo.
He added that the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority will be one of their major stakeholders.
"The publicity association will also raise awareness on issues affecting the community and one of the them is abuse of drugs by pupils," said Moyo.
