    District Administrator Clara Muzenda dies

    CHIVI –  Former Chiredzi District Administrator who was now heading Chimanimani District, Clara Merjury Muzenda has died.
    She was 55.
    Muzenda died after an illness at Harare Hospital on December 27, 2017 and was buried at Guti Village in Chivi on January 1, 2018.
    Speaking during the burial family spokesperson and brother to the late, Catholic Priest Father Vincent Muzenda said the family had lost a hard worker and unifier who was a strong woman. He said the family will draw inspiration from the enduring spirit and sense of development from their deceased relative.
    "She was a strong woman and as a family we lost a pillar and unifier of the family. We will however draw inspiration from her enduring spirit and developmental mind which she taught many of us in the family" said Father Muzenda.
    Muzenda was born on April 10, 1963 at Farm 119 Zvinyaningwe in Chivi. She did her primary education at Berejena Central Primary School from 1970 to 1976 and proceeded to Gokomere High School from 1979 to 1982 for both her Ordinary and Advanced Level.
    In 1985 she attained her Bachelor of Science in Politics from the University of Zimbabwe. She joined the Ministry of Local Government in 1986 as an Administration Officer. She attended various Administration courses at Domboshava Public Service Training Institute. In 1988 she was elevated to the post of Senior Administrative Officer from where she was promoted to the post of Assistant District Administrator in Kadoma in 1990.
    In 1992 she enrolled at the University of Bradford in the United Kingdom where she studied a course in Planning and Appraisal of Rural Development Projects and in 1997 she was selected for studies in Local and Regional Development Planning at the United National Centre for Regional Development in Kenya. She attained her Masters in Public Sector Management at Africa University under the African Capacity Building Trust in 2010.
    She was promoted to the post of District Administrator Seke in 1995 and in 2002 she was transferred to Mudzi District, then to Kwekwe in 2006. She was moved to Chiredzi in 2009 and was redeployed to Chimanimani District of Manicaland in 2016.
    Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing Gorge Magosvongwe said Ms Muzenda was a dedicated civil servant whose contribution to the Ministry is immeasurable and unquestionable.
    She is survived by 2 sons.
