Chadzamira blocks expulsion of Chiredzi MPs

CHIREDZI – Zanu PF Masvingo provincial chairman, Ezra Chadzamira has refused to budge to demands by Lacoste members in Chiredzi who are calling for the expulsion of MPs suspected to be members of the defeated G40.
It is believed that the Lacoste members eyeing seats in Chiredzi are pushing for the ouster of the sitting MPs so that they can clear their paths for their victories in the primary elections.
Chadzamira who was addressing an inter-district meeting held in Chiredzi recently ordered Lacoste members to stop agitating for the expulsion of Chiredzi MPs.
Masvingo vice chairperson Ailes Baloyi who is eying Chiredzi South Constituency told the meeting that the district had recommended to the province to expel all four sitting legislators.
"As Chiredzi district we want party leadership to take measures similar to those taken against the likes of Paul Chimedza and Mzembi and expel all four Chiredzi MPs. Some of these members are undertaking meetings in the constituencies without our knowledge so they should be suspended immediately before they spoil other party cadres" said Baloyi
Chiredzi West MP Darlington Chiwa however, pleaded with Chadzamira to protect them from continued persecution by provincial members who are aspiring candidates.
"Chairman I understand you know that we were once branded Gamatox and now G40. All these episodes disturbed our duties during this term of office. We are labelled this and that but those behind the agenda are not taking us through the laid down party procedures of disciplinary hearing," complained Chiwa.
Chadzamira rubbished Baloyi`s submissions saying the party was now more focused on development and not advancing selfish interests.
"When I came to Chiredzi I thought I would hear issues to do with the sugar industry and Tokwe Mukorsi but all I hear are calls for expulsions and fights. Let me tell you that there is a new dispensation whose focus is not on fights but on development and the welfare of the people," said Chadzamira.
Jevas Masosota the provincial political commissar is eying Chiredzi East which is under Denford Masiya, Ronald Ndava Secretary for Information is eyeing Chiredzi North which is under Robert Mukwena while Baloyi is pushing to replace his perennial rival Rt General Kallisto Gwanetsa in Chiredzi South and Chiredzi Town Council Chairman Francis Moyo together with Former Tongaat Hulett Agric Director Farai Musikavanhu are eying Chiwa`s Chiredzi West.
