MASVINGO – Pupils from Kyle Prep School in Masvingo have shown sympathy to children who are in need by donating basic goods to children at Zishumbe Primary, a rural school in a resettlement area.
The pupils who are all from a Grade 5 Class mobilised and donated food stuffs, toiletries, clothes, shoes and toys. The donation was made two weeks ago. This is the third year running that the school has been making such donations.
Zishumbe Primary head, Tracy Marecha expressed great appreciation for the gesture and said the donation will make an impact on the welfare of the benefitting pupils.
"The gesture makes a big impact on the welfare of disadvantaged children in the school," said Marecha.
She also commented the ensuing interaction between pupils of an elite school and a rural school and said both sides can learn a lot of things from each other.
Zishumbe SDC secretary, Sarah Nzombe applauded Kyle Prep for the donation and appealed to other elite schools to emulate the gesture and do it to many other disadvantaged children.
Kyle Prep Grade 5 teacher Donald Magaya said his school had been making such donations for the past three years and one of the key purposes is to teach pupils  to give, especially to  the less privileged.
