FC Platinum eye first title glory

ZVISHAVANE- The Zvishavane based Premier League side FC Platinum aka Pure Platinum have the fate to make history in their own hands as they now occupy pole position jointly with fellow platinum miners Ngezi Platinum whom they meet in the 33th match of the season in what could the title decider.
If they win the title it would  be the first time that they do so and the first time that a team outside Bulawayo and Harare has done so in the history of the 25 year old league.
Both teams have 60 points but Ngezi is on pole position courtesy of a superior goal difference.
Pure Platinum spokesperson Chido Chizondo told The Mirror that the team is working tirelessly to clinch their maiden league title which they narrowly missed out to Caps Utd last year when they finished second.
"We have been in the Premier League since 2011 and we feel it is our year to shine and we are encouraging our boys to work extra hard in order to win the title. Although we have not beaten Ngezi in our three last encounters I believe with the right attitude we will prevail," said Chizondo.
On Saturday Pure Platinum faces ZPC Kariba at Mandava Stadium followed by Tsholotsho in Beitbridge then Ngezi at their fortress and finally Chapungu in Gweru.
In their 15 away games this season, Pure Platinum have won six, drawn seven and lost two to Ngezi and Caps United by an identical 2-1 score line.
