    MP Muzenda donates laptops to Rufaro High

    INNOCENT MUDZITIRI

    GUTU - Gutu West MP Tongai Muzenda (52) donated 20 laptops to the Apostolic Faith Mission-run Rufaro High School in Gutu where he was the guest of honour at the Prize giving day two weeks ago.
    Muzenda also played a role in the construction of an ICT block at Rufaro High. Muzenda who is a Catholic said as an MP he will not discriminate on who to assist but will help all schools and churches according to need.
    "I am a Catholic but as MP I will assist all schools in Gutu according to need," said Muzenda.
    Rufaro was holding its 4th speech and prize giving day running under the theme; 'embracing the updated curriculum through ICT'; Emily Midzi represented Gutu District Schools Inspector James Mahofa at the occasion.
    Rufaro head Jamson Shumbanhete said Rufaro High's academic records for last year were pleasing with 56 out of 98 students having passed their ZIMSEC O levels with five subjects with a grade C or better. The pass rate stood at 58.4% and the best student was Wayne Mudamburi who scored 7As.
    The pass rate at A level was 98% with 61 out of 63 students having passed.
    Shumbanhete said, "I encourage all students to take into account a quote by Ralph Marson who said do not lower your expectations to meet your performance and raise your level of your performance to meet your expectations."
    Tanaka Madakwai form one, Amara Chikumbirike in form two, Joylene Kademaunga in form three, Godknows Magaya in form four, Wayne Mudamburi form five and Godwin Gwamuri form six received prizes for being the overall best in their respective forms.
    The school head thanked all the stakeholders and parents as well with their support.
