    Chibi High clinches U-20 NASH soccer tourney

    CHIVI-One of Masvingo Province schools upcoming soccer powerhouses Chibi High School pulled off a huge surprise to clinch the 2017 National Association of School Heads (NASH) U-20 national boys' title after walloping hapless Hippo Valley High 2-0 at Chishamiso Stadium in Chiredzi last Friday.
    This is the first time that Chibi have won the U20 NASH boys' soccer trophy.
    "The games were very tough especially the final, but I am very excited for the young boys as they played according to instructions to lay giants like Guinea Fowl," said Bonface Machingauta the school head, an avid supporter of the team in his own right.
    Chibi qualified for the finals after beating Guinea Fowl of Midlands Province 1-0 while Hippo Valley floored defending champions Mavhuradonha from Mashonaland East 2-1 in the semi-finals.
    Twelve teams from all the ten provinces took part in the annual soccer extravaganza which was sponsored by one of the biggest names in the baking industry, Marondera headquartered Proton Bakery.
    Four players from Chibi High School were selected as best players and they were taken for trials at Triangle FC, they are; Dennis Nhondo, Charles Lumbilani, King Khumalo and Albert Zvavarungu.
