    Pamushana teacher appointed national team coach


    BIKITA-Prominent coach and teacher at sports powerhouse Pamushana High School, Simbarashe Mlambo has been appointed national coach for Under17 netball team for the Confederation of Schools Sport Associtions of Sourthern Africa (COSSASA) to be held in Lesotho Maseru this Saturday.
    'I feel great and honored to be recognized in the netball fraternity, I promise not to disappoint the nation and bring home gold,' said Mlambo after the appointment by National Association of Secondary Heads (NASH).
    Mlambo is not new to national assignments as he was appointed assistant national team coach before for the Region 5 games in 2014 which were held in Bulawayo and the country clinched gold.
    In 2013 he won gold with the national team at the COSSASA games as well as in 2012 where he won silver and in 2016 he won bronze.
    From 2008 until 2010 he won the U17 national tournament while at Mwenezi Government High and went to perform the same feat with Pamushana High School from 2011 until this year, which is a record.
    The 36 year old gaffer has also won the National Youth Games netball tournament six consecutive times from 2009-2014.
    In Lesotho, Mlambo will be assisted by Nozipho Mpofu where South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Swaziland and hosts Lesotho will battle it out for honours.
    Mlambo has announced the 10 players to do duty in Lesotho; Maxzin Muvembi, Lisa Tanyaniwa, Selina Kuriremu (Pamushana) Michelle Muzanenhamo, Nicole Muzanenhamo, Nobukhosi Ndlovu, Ntando Sibanda  (Sikhulile), Whitney Manyuchi (Mvurwi), Sithabile Manyukire (Mnene) and Lesibane Karasu (Mpopoma).
