Omar threatens to abandon Mwenezi East for Masvingo urban

MWENEZI - Mwenezi East MP Joosbi Omar, who is under-fire from his electorate for allegedly making empty promises, last week said people in Masvingo urban were pestering him to represent them in 2018 elections.
On Saturday, while officially opening Mwenezi District Agriculture Show at Rutenga Primary School, Omar said a lot of party people have approached him in Masvingo asking him to stand as their preferred candidate for the 2018 general elections.
"Let me tell you that Masvingo urban is crying for me. Several councillors and other people flock to my house saying we want you to represent us here in Masvingo," said Omar without giving much detail.
He said it was not a good idea to talk too much in the presence of the media before he diverted to another topic.
"If you talk too much, media guys are here they will write about you in their papers. But we will counter that and launch our own magazine and write our own stories," said Omar.
He also went on to make a U-turn on election promises saying that he did not promise to do any project immediately after winning the elections.
