    Nashville student traumatised by fatal accident

    GWERU – An unlicensed Nashville High School student who killed a pedestrian in an accident in Gweru is so traumatised by the incident that he can't close doors behind him including the bathroom where he takes his shower.
    The accused who is 16 and stays in Mkoba, Gweru overturned with a Honda Fit that he was speeding during a joy ride. The car hit Freddy Chinduwa who died.
    He appeared before Provincial Magistrate Phathekile Msipa facing one count of driving without a license and another count of culpable homicide.
    His lawyer Arnold Siyakwinji of Pundu and Company pleaded for a suspended sentence highlighting that the young offender was traumatized and had reformed after the accident.
    He said the boy was so traumatised that he cannot even close doors behind him.
    Magistrate Phatekile Msipa sentenced the boy to two strokes that would be administered at Hwahwa Prison.
