Ambassador’s wife eyes Mwenezi West constituency

...as five Zanu PF are set on entering race

MWENEZI – Priscilla Zindari Moyo, the wife of Zimbabwe's ambassador to South Africa is one of the five Zanu PF members who is said to be eyeing the Mwenezi Constituency seat come 2018.
Some of the candidates said to be interested in the seat are Zanu PF Central Committee member Tafadzwa Masvayamwando Shumba, Obey Mbiza a school headmaster in the constituency and Dr Silvester Maunganidze. Also to contest is Col Jonathan Hungwe.
Shumba said he is considering the issue of contesting after a lot of people from the constituency had approached him concerning the matter.
"A lot of people have been asking me to represent them in 2018 and am considering the call. I will let you know when I make up my mind," said Shumba refusing to shade more details.
In a telephone interview with The Mirror, Zindari could neither confirm nor deny her interest to contest.
"We will talk when the time comes, at the moment it is not allowed. According to our party rules we are not yet allowed to talk about those issues," said Zindari.
Efforts to get a comment from Col Hungwe were fruitless but he is said to be initiating some developmental projects in the constituency.
Mbiza and Maunganidze could not be reached for a comment.
The seating MP Lemson Matavire is reportedly losing popularity in the constituency after he had failed to deliver on his electoral promises.news
