2 Mwenezi Zanu PF youth severely injured by Police dogs

MWENEZI - Two Mwenezi Zanu PF youth suspected of being the brains behind the burning at Mujingwe Concervancy after disagreements over a private investor who wanted to take over the community conservancy were severely injured on 27  August 2017 allegedly after Police handcuffed and set dogs on them.
Accused Mpofu (27) and Ability Mpofu (17) who are brothers, were last week taken to Neshuro District Hospital for treatment with serious wounds all over their bodies.
Masvingo Police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed but declined to comment as the matter was now at Masvingo Magistate courts.
The two brothers said they were forced to disembark from a commuter bus while on their way from Rutenga to Beitbridge.
"Police intercepted our kombi and the two of us were ordered to disembark from the vehicle.
"We were handcuffed immediately after stepping down from the vehicle and one Police officer tripped me to the ground. Two menacing dogs were unleashed on me," said Accused as he sobbed.
They were then taken to Mujingwe Conservancy where they were further assaulted and had dogs set on them while the cops bit them with baton sticks, said Accused.
"After severely assaulting and letting their dogs on me they then went on to do the same to my younger brother. They did not even consider that he was a small boy who was too young to have been involved in the alleged Mujingwe fracas," added Accused.
He said the dogs went on to attack them until they were tired. He said no one came to their aid despite cries for help.
There are also allegations that Police last week rounded up villagers in the Sovele area in Mujingwe and assaulted them before they dumped them several kilometres away from their homesteads.
