    ZIFA Eastern Region bans coaches without CAF B Licences


    MASVINGO- ZIFA Eastern Region Division One coaches who do not possess the minimum CAF B Licence will not be allowed to sit on the technical bench when the second half of the season begins this Saturday, Wisdom Simba the region's secretary has said.
     "In line with the ZIFA technical committee's recommendations we have resolved that all coaches for D1 teams must possess a minimum of CAF B Licence as part of standardisation of coaching in the country, we have adopted that at the EGM on Saturday.
    "We expect all clubs to comply with the resolution as the course have been decentralised," said Simba.
    He also added that the EGM agreed that all personnel who sit on the technical bench must possess a football coaching certificate including team mangers.
    The ZIFA technical development committee is headed by Wilson Mutekede who also attended the meeting on Sunday which dealt mainly with technical issues for the clubs and officials.
    The Mirror understands that there are only five coaches in the region who possess CAF B coaching licences and these are; Johanes Nhumwa of Mucheke Pirates, Buffaloes' Shadreck Maguresava, John Phiri the Bikita Minerals gaffer, Tonderai Marume of Prime Rangers and Lions' Simba Madziwana.
    Simba also said they have given clubs that have not paid up their affiliation fees to submit their payment plans failure of which they will not continue playing their remaining matches.
    The two day Indaba was attended by Cyril Mukweva the region's vice chairman, Masvingo Province chairman, Nabioth Magwizi, Thadeous Machawaira regional manager, 16 club representatives and other board members.
