ZAKA – Prominent Harare lawyer Godfrey Muzondo has donated stationery worth $3000 to three schools in his rural ward in Zaka.
Muzondo is also the secretary general of Zaka Development Association (ZDA).
Muzondo of GH Muzondo and Partners said the donations should benefit the vulnerable children and added that the programme was his way of ploughing back to his community.
The donations were made to Tovane where he did his primary school and two other neighbouring schools; Chinorumba Primary and Secondary. The consignment of donations included counterbooks, exercise books, chalks, pens and covers.
The schools are in Ward 13, Zaka Central under Chief Nhema.
Muzondo said he was assisted in mobilizing resources for the donation by AE Electrical Wholesalers, a Chinese company based in Harare.
"This donation should benefit vulnerable children. In the near future we should establish an old students association which should spearhead development for the school. My donation has no strings attached since I have no ambitions to join politics" said Muzondo.
Zaka RDC Chairman and councillor for Ward 13 Sebastian Musundire welcomed the donation. Tovani head Leornard Mutobwe whose school has an enrolment of 457 thanked Muzondo for the donation and appealed for more support including electrification of the school.education news
