Bondolfi Teachers’ College complete $2 m double storey hostel

BONDOLFI MISSION – The Roman Catholic-run Bondolfi Teachers' College has successfully completed the construction of a $2 million double-storey hostel that will provide accommodation to 303 female students.
The state of art hostel was officially opened by Sekuru Michael Bhasera, the bishop of Masvingo Diocese. In addition to the hostels the college also constructed five houses for lecturers and a mother's shelter at the mission clinic.
The hostel was built by Pevimag Contractors with Dickie and Kunaka as the consulting engineers and architectural work was done by Mutsambiwa Architects.
Bishop Bhasera blessed the new hostel, mother's shelter and staff's houses and later celebrated mass that was attended by the whole community at Bondolfi Mission.
In his sermon Father Hillary Tauyanago said the church's contribution and main goal is to produce well nurtured teachers; intellectually, physically, emotionally and morally. These teachers should become good citizens who contribute positively to all the pupils in our country.
''The Church desires that by the time every teacher leaves Bondolfi College, they should know God, serve him and commit their lives to the service of the nation knowing that all belong to God. When each does their part well then we have a peaceful and productive society.
"The Church does not build institutions to compete with anyone, on the contrary these institutions are for evangelization and well-being of God's people. We should emulate the team at Bondolfi to be able to achieve such developments,'' said Fr Tauyanago.
