    Senior cop’s son gets 10 years for robbery

    MASVINGO – Masvingo Regional Magistrate, Dambudzo Malunga has sentenced Panashe Ncube who is the son of Police Chief Superintendent Philip Ncube to 10 years in jail for robbery.
    It is the State case that on June 17, 2017 at 11pm, Mathias Tauyanago aged 33 years from Goki Village under Chief Charumbira in Masvingo Rural was pirating using his Toyota Corolla Sedan when he was hired by the trio of Victor Ranga, Kudzai Mushanje and Ncube from Marry Me Night Club in Rujeko A in Masvingo to take them to Mucheke Rank. He charged them a fee of US$2 which he was paid.
    Upon arrival at Mucheke, the complainant was ordered to stop the car as the accused persons wanted to smoke.
    The complainant complied and they all disembarked from the vehicle.
    At that moment the accused persons turned against the complainant and accused him of driving an unlicensed vehicle. The accused persons claimed that they were Police officers and that they had been looking for the complainant's car. Ranga produced a pair of handcuffs and Ncube handcuffed the complainant.
    Ranga took charge of the car and drove to an open area near Mucheke Stadium. The accused persons then pulled the complainant out of the car and searched him .They took off his blue pair of tackies valued at $40-00 and a pair of socks valued at $2-00 , a Samsung cell phone valued at $30-00 with an Econet line. They pushed him back on to the back seat of his car still handcuffed.
    Ranga drove the car to Mucheke Rank where he parked the car outside Chigudu Night Club and Ncube disembarked from the car and went to buy beer whilst Mushanje remained in the car guarding the complainant. Ranga and Ncube came back to the car with a bottle of Super Chibuku beer. Ncube then drove the car into town and parked at Ritz Night Club along Hellet Street.
    Ncube and Mushanje disembarked from the car and entered the night club to buy more beer. The complainant then managed to open the vehicle door after a fight and went to Masvingo Central Police and filed a report.
