GWERU – President Robert Mugabe has appointed 26 persons into the Midlands State University MSU council and a significant number are distinguished professionals from Gweru.
The new members include Monday Derrick Moyo who is Sino Zimbabwe Managing Director, Engineer Walter Nemasasi who is managing director at Unki, Engineer Robson Manatsa who is the Gweru City Council director of engineering, Tinashe Manzungu who is Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce chairman for Midlands and Tenson Tawanda Mugodzwa.
Manzungu said that the appointment is a humbling gesture to him and he is highly honoured to be recognized for such an appointment.
"I believe my contribution to MSU should be to continue raising the quality of education. We need more entrepreneurs from the University in order to create business and industry in Gweru so that we can create jobs. We have over 4 000 graduates from MSU every year but there are less than 50 businesses that opened in the city in a year," said Manzungu
Unki Mine Manager who also talked to The Mirror said that he is happy with the appointment and is looking forward to doing work for the University.
