    Catholics donate to Mutimurefu Prison


    MASVINGO – A group of women from (St Anna's Guild) Gutu Denary made visits in Masvingo two weeks ago and donated food stuffs to Mutemurefu Prison and, Alfred Walter Hostel at Zim Care Children's Home in Mucheke, they  and also visited Emma Munanga, the headmistress from Mutunduru Primary School who was attacked and stabbed by a robber.
    They were accompanied by Father Maxwell Mabvuure of St Josephine Bhakita Parish.
    Prisoners who are always short of basic necessities because of the harsh economic times received 50 rolls of tissues, 79 bars of green soap, 47 kg salt, 56 kg sugar, 13 cognates, 20.75 litres of cooking oil. There are over 700  inmates at Mutimurefu.
    The Chaplain at the prison said the donation was critical particularly for prisoners who don't have relatives to supplement the little they get from the prison.
