    MORRIS BISHI

ZAKA – Zaka District Veterinary Officer Edmore Mugabe is under investigation for alleged failure to perform his duties properly, a situation that has seen his subordinates prejudicing the department thousands of dollars.
Masvingo Provincial Veterinary Officer Dr Enerst Dzimwasha declined to comment on the matter to the media.
However, The Mirror is reliably informed that a team from the provincial vet office descended on Zaka two weeks ago for an audit of Mugabe's work.
The team looked into the way reports from his subordinates were filled. It was felt that this is where the weaknesses and the failure to detect financial misappropriation lay.
"I cannot divulge that information to the Press. It's an internal issue. We carry out routine checks in all centres but I cannot give you a comment" said Dr Dzimwasha.
Various veterinary officers from Zaka District were arrested and even sacked from work for misappropriating funds collected from dip-tanks.
Dennis Musona, a vet officer in Zaka has vanished allegedly after $4000 went missing.
