    Matinunura High teacher guilty of fraud

    GWERU - Josias Musindo (40), a music teacher at Matinunura High School in Mkoba, Gweru has been sentenced to three months in jail after he was found guilty of defrauding the school of $250.
    Magistrate Musaiona Shortgame suspended the three months on condition that Musindo fully restitutes the school and pay a fine of $100.
    It was the State case that Musindo was tasked by the school to relieve the clerk and some of his duties involved receiving school fees from students, giving them receipts and handing over all details of the payments to the school bursar.
    Matinunura High represented by Musapindira Kuzondidini who is the School Development Committee (SDC) chairman told the court that in October 2016, he was informed by parents that Musindo was making false entries on receipts.
    Five students were found to have been given forged receipts after investigations conducted revealed that details on issued receipts were different from those on duplicate copies left in the book.
