    Herdboy gets 10 years for rapping employer’s daughter

    GWERU - Andrew Gumbo, a herdboy from Munyamani Village in Mberengwa has been sentenced to 10 years in jail after raping his employer's 11-year-old daughter on numerous occasions.
    Magistrate Morgan Nemadire suspended two years of the sentence on condition that he does not commit a similar offence within the next five years.
    It is the State case that sometime in May last year Gumbo and the complainant fell in love. The two had sexual intercourse several times on different occasions. Gumbo would give the minor $1 after very sexual activity so that she would not disclose the affair to anyone.
    The sexual abuse came out one early morning when the accused took the minor to a bush next to the home and had sex with her. The two were spotted by the complainant's sister who told her parents and Gumbo ran away. A Police report was made leading to the Gumbo's arrest.
