    ALLIEWAY NYONI

MATAGA - The Headmistress of Shamba Primary School in Mataga in Mberengwa South is under investigation on allegations of abusing 42 bags of cement meant for the construction of a classroom block.
Midlands Provincial Education Director Agnes Gudo confirmed the allegations and said her department was investigating the case and Christine Moyo has been asked to defend herself.
The allegations are that Moyo borrowed 42 bags of cement meant for the construction of a classroom block. She is alleged to have built a shop and then returned just three bags.
Efforts to get comment from Moyo were fruitless.
It is understood that the School Development Committee together with other staff members then quizzed Moyo over the cement.
A report was made to the District Education Officer Ezwell Sibanda who notified Provincial Education Director Agnes Gudo. The school is understood to have pupils who are learning under a tree.
"The procedure is a bit long. But our team went on the ground and our investigations were done and completed. Now we are waiting for the headmistress to submit her defense pertaining to the case," said Gudo.
