SA’s Moosa Isameal to join Shabani FC

ZVISHAVANE - Former Celtic and Bloemfontein FC under-20 midfielder Moosa Isameal made a surprise appearance at the ongoing Shabani Mine FC 2017 trials.
Ismael has been playing in the South African ABSA premiership for the past three years and is popularly known for his tactics.
His manager Emmanuel Gwenzi said Ismael's move to Zimbabwe and particularly to seek a slot in the Midlands club is being driven by his wish to come back home (Zimbabwe) as his parents who had migrated to South Africa passed on last year.
"Ismael has always wanted to play football in Zimbabwe and we are currently working hard for him to get a local club particularly in the Midlands where his grandparents stay. At the moment he is at Shabani FC for trials where I am sure he will pass the grade," said Gwenzi.
Gwenzi said Ismael had also pleased Chapungu coach Tendai Chikuni but the army side authorities could not give him a slot as they want a security verification to allow the foreigner to be part of their squad.
"Chikuni wanted the boy but some security procedures within the army have hindered his move, so he might settle for Shabani if there are no new developments," added Gwenzi.
Shabani Mine FC Chairman Elias Marufu said Chinda Boys has an open door policy and everyone has an equal opportunity to be part of their club as long as he is a good player.
"The young man is a talented player and as Shabanie FC we have an open door policy where anyone with good football skills can be part of us," said Marufu.
Ismael said he is delighted to be home.
"I am very happy to be home and I wish I can get a club soon so that it also helps me to process my Zimbabwean citizenship," said Musa.
Shabanie FC is expected to complete its trial week by Saturday and a final squad will be announced thereafter.
Meanwhile, Shabani FC captain and veteran defender Zvenyika Makonese has rejoined the club after a failed attempt to join Swaziland Manzini Wanderers. The former Orlando Pirates and Shabani FC defender is said to have joined Manzini at a time the club decided to remove all foreign based players from their squad including Frank Mukarati, Tawanda Chikore and Tafadzwa Jaravani.
