    GZU in Chikomba for career guidance


    CHIVHU - Great Zimbabwe University (GZU), one of the biggest tertiary institutions in the country is carrying out nationwide career guidance outreach to raise awareness on programmes that it offers and the job market available for those courses.
    The outreach started on January 26 in Mashava and the team is visiting places that includes Chivi, Zaka, Kadoma, Gutu, Zvishavane, Chivhu, Gokwe, Chitungwiza, Marondera, Mberengwa,  Mutare, Kwekwe, Chiredzi, Gweru among others.
    In Chivhu, the team which was headed by the Deputy Director for Information, Brenda Kaseke held a roadshow at Pick n Pay on Tuesday last week and explained to residents the entry requirements for the University which include normal entries, special and mature entries. Normal courses are done by anyone with 2 'A' level passes, special entries are done by those with a diploma and mature entries are done by people who are over 25 years and above with 5 O' level passes including Mathematics and English.
    Also notable in the GZU team was the director of work related learning, Kudzai Mudzingwa.
    In a telephone interview, GZU Pro- Vice Chancellor Andrew Chindanya said it has become a norm for the organisation to market its programmes to the public so that they can make informed choices of where they can access their university studies.
    "We have an obligation to citizens to make them know about us, what we offer and how we offer," said Chindanya.
