    Mlambo appointed substantive Editor

MASVINGO – The Masvingo Mirror board chairman has appointed Nkulumani Mlambo substantive editor of The Mirror with effect from January 1, 2017.
Mlambo has been the acting editor of the paper for the past 12 months.
Board chair, Advocate Rodgers Matsikidze said in a statement that
the appointment of Mlambo was carefully done in line with The Mirror's
new regional thrust in which the newspaper now covers five provinces,
namely Masvingo, Midlands, Matebeleland South, Manicaland and
Mashonaland East. "We need an editor groomed for a regional newspaper with a community story.
We are a regional paper but our emphasis is on a community story. Mlambo must be able to strike that balance without losing our popular appeal.
"We are also the most successful hybrid or broadloid newspaper in the
country, according to research and we want Mlambo to build on these successes," said Matsikidze.
Mlambo has worked for The Mirror for five years, having started off in the marketing department. He was appointed general manager in 2014 before being given further responsibility as the acting editor of the newspaper in January 2016.local news
